Dreaming of sunshine and sweet-tart sips? You're in the right place!

Guess what?! Today is Lemonade Day and what better way to celebrate than by whipping up a batch of the ultimate homemade lemonade?

Forget those sugary, artificial mixes – we're talking about pure, zesty refreshment that tastes like summer in a glass.

Get ready to unleash your inner lemonade stand entrepreneur (or just enjoy a perfectly chilled glass on the patio!) as we dive into a super simple recipe that'll have everyone asking for more.

    Ingredients :

    • 6-8 large lemons

    • 200g granulated sugar (adjust to your sweetness preference)

    • 950ml cold water, plus more for serving

    • Ice, for serving

    • Optional garnishes: Lemon slices, fresh mint sprigs, or berries

    Serves : 4-6

Cooks In : 10 minutes active - 30 minutes chilling

    Difficulty : Very Easy

    Preparation Method :

    1. Prepare the Lemons: Roll the lemons firmly on your countertop before slicing them in half. This helps to release more juice. Squeeze all the juice into a jug or bowl, making sure to remove any seeds. You should aim for about 400ml of juice.

    2. Make the Simple Syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar with 1 cup of cold water. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar is completely dissolved. Don't let it boil. This creates a "simple syrup," which ensures your sugar dissolves perfectly into the cold lemonade without leaving a grainy texture. Remove from heat and let it cool completely. You can speed this up by placing the saucepan in an ice bath.

    3. Combine Ingredients: Once the simple syrup is cool, pour the fresh lemon juice into a large pitcher. Add the cooled simple syrup.

    4. Add Water & Chill: Stir in the remaining 3 cups of cold water. Taste and adjust for sweetness – if you prefer it sweeter, add a little more dissolved sugar; if too sweet, add a splash more water or lemon juice.

    5. Serve: Fill glasses with plenty of ice. Pour the homemade lemonade over the ice. Garnish with fresh lemon slices, mint sprigs, or a few berries if desired. Enjoy immediately!

    Tips :

Cold is Key: Ensure your simple syrup is completely cooled before mixing it with the lemon juice and water. This prevents a cloudy lemonade and keeps it extra refreshing.
